Adrian St Clair Brown

Adrian at a glance

  • Working philosophy – “Don’t ask don’t get” – Always make sure to ask the questions no matter how difficult the response might be.
  • Proudest moment – Birth of my daughter
  • Hobbies and interest – Sports, particularly football & cricket (although not much time for cricket these days)
  • Favourite film – A Christmas Carol

Brought up in the ‘Steel city’ of Sheffield, Adrian went on to study Chemistry at Nottingham Trent University followed by a PhD in Physical Chemistry. After several postdoctoral roles, Adrian began his career in the Pharmaceutical industry at GSK before moving to Cambridge to join start-up contract R&D pharma company, Pharmorphix. Adrian took on several roles and after the acquisition of the company by Sigma-Aldrich, (now Johnson Matthey) he became Site Manager.

With a strong interest in science & technology, Adrian went on to work with Cambridge Reactor Design to support the development and sales of an innovative new product ‘The Polar Bear’, which was successfully launched into the Pharma market.

Now, as the Sales & Marketing Director for The Innomech Group, Adrian spends much of his time with companies across the UK looking to introduce automation machinery or develop new products. Adrian has met a diverse array of businesses from FMCG companies to specialists in HiTech products, multi-nationals to UK start-ups.

The Innomech Group has a history of supporting young people in engineering and Adrian is following in this tradition by engaging with local schools to develop and support robotics STEM clubs using the VEX Robotics platform.

Adrian is a family man so when he’s not at work he tries to spend as much time as possible with his family and travelling.
